Pump Stations

The pump station for the Taber Golf Club had two main purposes. One was to construct a building that enclosed the pumps, electrical panel, and provide space to store irrigation related equipment. Beyond the pressure and flow requirements, the other purpose was to design a station capable of providing filtered water with the ability to inject fertilizer and/or chemicals. The result was a discharge header and z-drop piping made of stainless steel. The filter selected was also stainless steel.

Waterton Lakes was in the unique situation to potentially utilize two separate systems operating from one pump station. The first reason is that the golf course is leased out and the government can not provide infrastructure to leaseholders; therefore the leaseholders have one pump to irrigate their system on the golf course. The other pump is used to distribute any excess effluent water (from the community) rather than discharge it back into the local stream.
