Irrigation Pump Station ServicesA well designed pump station is critical to the overall reliability and efficiency of your irrigation system. At Bluegrass Irrigation Consulting, our design goal is to operate the variable speed pump station at the lowest possible pressure and still maintain sprinkler performance. To do this, we design the mainline pipe velocities at a maximum of 4’ per second. Furthermore, we sometimes incorporate a booster pump to service a specific high point on the golf course. Why pay more for electricity and over pressure a majority of the golf course to accommodate only one or even two small areas? Our design philosophy not only reduces water hammer, but also increases the life expectancy of the mainline pipe, fittings and valves. Bluegrass Irrigation Consulting will review your existing pump station and design a new, more efficient station that fits the parameters and infrastructure already in place. Many of our stations incorporate multiple variable frequency drives or VFD’s. We believe that each golf or commercial project requires a specific pump station design because no two irrigation systems are exactly alike. Irrigated acres, water window and application rates change from location to location. In addition, every turf manager will use different irrigation and cultural practices based on their site-specific soil and environmental conditions. We can prepare necessary drawings and contract documents for your pump station. Bids will be opened in the presence of a witness and they will be evaluated and monitored to comply with the plans and specifications set forth in the Contract Documents. After reviewing all the criteria, a recommendation will be made and your pump station will be delivered on time and under budget. |
